Bakkavor Graduate Engineering: Software Engineer Programme
Location: Lincolnshire, Cheshire and Newark

Year 1: £30,000 + £1,000 one-off signing-on bonus (Paid November 25!)

Year 2: £32,000 - £35,000

Year 3: £37,000 - £40,000 (Yearly increments based-on annual assessments)

Roles will be based at either Bourne, Holbeach, Newark, Spalding or in Cheshire, on rotation.

The Bakkavor Software Engineering Graduate Programme offers an exciting opportunity for graduates to kick-start their careers in software systems management and engineering. This programme is specifically designed to provide comprehensive support in delivering and maintaining software systems across our U.K. sites while playing a key role in optimising and managing Bakkavor’s engineering software systems.

In this role, you’ll report into the U.K. Engineering Systems & Software Manager and be exposed to a dynamic work environment that encourages personal and professional growth. The programme will nurture your ability to think creatively, solve problems, and manage complex projects. Through hard work, a strong focus, and continuous development, within 5-7 years, you will be aspiring to be on a path to a Senior Engineering Management position.

Assessment Centre will be held at either our Spalding site, Newark site or London site!

What do you need?

We are seeking applicants with a strong motivation to build a career in Food Manufacturing, aiming for a future role as an Engineering Manager. You should have a curious mindset and a drive to challenge conventional practices, along with flexibility and adaptability. At Bakkavor, innovation is key to staying driven, so staying informed about current affairs and the latest food trends is essential.

To be eligible for the Engineering Programme, you must meet the following criteria:

• Degree: Achieved or expected to achieve at least a 2:2 honours degree in a relevant Engineering discipline: Electrical Engineering; Electronic Engineering   

• Experience: At least three months of relevant work experience. Knowledge of safety, health & environmental procedures and IT systems would be preferable.

• Work Eligibility: Right to work in the UK for a minimum of 3 years from September 2025

• Motivation: A clear commitment to advancing your career in the food industry.

• Flexibility: Willingness to complete three 12-month placements at different locations across the UK (we will consider your preferences).
