• What does a Technical Graduate do?

Ensuring food safety and quality is adhered to at all times. There are daily tasks as well as monthly projects to complete as part of your learning and familiarisation of the system, but also opportunities to help improve quality and efficiency of the factory. The role involves anything from making sure the factory runs smoothly, updating/implementing procedures, dealing with supplier/customer issues, overseeing trials of new product launches, scheduling taste panels, and many more.

• What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing this career?

As long as you’re passionate and determined, you’ll do great. 

• What’s the best thing about your job?

No day is the same, it is quite a reactive role. One day it can be chill and steady, another day it could be extremely hectic trying to solve immediate problems. It can be challenging but rewarding. There are also many opportunities to develop your professional skills as well as visiting other sites.

• If you had the chance to do it all over again, what would you do the same / differently?

Possibly look for apprenticeships, I firmly believe they are a great way to have a head start on work experience and be paid for your learning.

• If you could give your 16 year old self some career advice, what would it be?

Don’t stress too much if you’re unsure about your career path, you’ll eventually figure it out. Try to do something you enjoy, passion drives further than hatred.
