- What does a Team Leader do?
A team leader must do a various number of things throughout each day, for example, if we use an agency they must be signed in and shown the procedures of the factory. Also, make sure production targets are met to keep up with customer demands. Organising the staff in what areas and jobs they will be doing which can differ every day, as well as making sure the product is cooked and packed to adequate standards and communicating between the shop floor staff and the management team on plans changing.
- How did you end up in this job?
Started working part-time on the noon shift due to going to college at the time so doing 2-3 days a week, then I went full time on the day shift when we had a new area installed on the factory and then worked my way up to become a team leader for the day shift.
- What’s the best thing about your job?
No day is the same, you might be doing the same products every now and then but there’s always something that will come up or problems you must deal with on a daily basis whether that be a breakdown in machinery or dealings with staff members.
What was your starting salary?

- Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
