- What does a Supply Chain graduate do?
During my first year as a supply chain graduate at CCEP I am based at the Coca-Cola manufacturing site in Wakefield. The aim of this year is to learn about the full scope of CCEP’s supply chain by doing rotations around the different functions within manufacturing and distribution. I have been learning about how the machines in the factory work and how they are operated as well as how quality tests are done to ensure the product is always of a certain standard. I have had the chance to get involved in meetings with senior management to witness how they make decisions and have been given various projects to work on such as monitoring yield and the factors that effect it on one of the lines.
- After you qualified, did it take long to find a job?
I applied for this role in my final year of university on ‘Get my first job’. The application process began with video interviews, the next stage was an assessment centre, then a ‘day in the life’ and finally a presentation to senior leadership. I started my role the September after graduating from university.
- What’s the best thing about your job?
What I have enjoyed the most about my job so far is spending time with the knowledgeable people who work at the factory. It’s great to have the opportunity to ask them questions and try to absorb some of their expertise. It’s also great to feel like part of the team!
- What was your starting salary?
£30,000
- Did you buy something special with your first pay cheque?
I put it towards a new car!
