- What does a People Advisor do?
- In this role you deal with an employee whole life cycle from the minute they join the company. This would be from recruitment stage to onboarding and then their journey through their working career with the company.

- People Advisor deals with a lot of transactional tasks such letter, contracts, email queries, new starters. We also deal with employee relations such as investigations disciplinaries, grievances.
- Give a description of a day in the life of a People Advisor
- From start at of the day you would check emails, whilst doing this you could have an employee come to the office asking for help on portal issues, or wanting pension forms or questions about contract, pay, want to raise a grievance etc the day is very much varied no day is the same.
- How did you end up in this job?
- I was working as a general administrator in a construction company and I often helped the HR Advisor. From assisting the HR Advisor I developed an interest in HR and decided to see how I could get into this industry. I found Certificate in Personel Practice level 3 qualification and then found a my first HR administrator role. From there moved to another construction company for a step up to HR Assistant and I did my CIPD Level 7 at the same time as working full time. Eventually I joined Bradgate Bakery but as a People Team Administrator but I worked my way up to People Advisor.
- What’s the best thing about your job?
- Learning new skills and continuously developing myself within this role. Also the interaction with diverse work force and building relationship with everyone in line with our values.
