What does a Multi-skilled Engineer do?

Breakdown cover and planned maintenance, making sure machines are running to prevent loss of production, improving machines to increase production amount and efficiency while also maintaining a high quality product using good hygiene.

Describe your job in 20-25 words.

My job is maintenance engineering which can use many different skills such as welding, fabrication, installation, plumbing. This makes each day very unpredictable as you may not have the same type of job.

How did you end up in this job?

My Dad is an engineer, and I always liked the sound of it and can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

What was your starting salary?

£298 a week.

Did you buy something special with your first pay cheque?

I remember buying a lot of fishing tackle with my first pay cheque.
