• How did you end up in this job?
In 2021, I sadly lost my mum. I was working as a medical secretary during that time and realised the job wasn’t bringing me joy. I decided to pursue my true dream of becoming a baker and found a local job as a bakery assistant in a farm shop. After five months there, I was made head baker and the rest is history! I also have a baking blog on Instagram called @littlewelshfoodie, which has helped me document my bakes along the way!
• What’s the best thing about your job?
I love that I can be creative every single day. I love that baking is something that has brought people together for centuries, and this will continue for generations to come!
• How long have you been doing your job?
I’ve been a professional baker now for just under four years!
• Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
I’d love to be helping the next generation of bakers into this incredible industry; whether that’s through teaching, workshops or heading into primary schools to inspire future bakers.
• If you could give your 16 year old self some career advice, what would it be?
Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to decide your career path at 16! You’re so young and the world is your oyster.
