- What does a HR Graduate do? As a HR Graduate at the beginning of my career, I am learning all of the day-to-day tasks HR professionals deal with. I work on absence management, recruitment, employee relations, and diversity & inclusion and ESG projects.
- How did you end up in this job? When I was studying business, I realised that the aspect I enjoyed the most was Human Resource Management. I love working with people and helping others, so I realised working in HR would be perfect for me.
- What’s the best thing about your job? The best thing about working in HR is bringing great people into the business and seeing them succeed.
- If you had the chance to do it all over again, what would you do the same / differently? I would definitely choose a degree that is CIPD accredited. CIPD is the association for HR professionals, and CIPD qualifications are often a requirement for high-level HR positions.
- If you could give your 16-year-old self some career advice, what would it be? I would say that there are people who are 10, 20, or even 30 years into their careers and they still don’t know what they want to do! Don’t panic, take a look at what personal qualities you have and what you’re good at and look for some careers that suit these qualities.
