- What does a HR Apprentice do? Being a HR apprentice means learning about balancing the needs of a business, as well as the needs from the people that work in it. HR is made up of many areas these include Recruitment, Reward and Recognition, Disciplinary, Grevience, Investigation, Engagement, Ethical and Compliance and much more.
- Give a description of a day in the life of a HR Apprentice. No two days are the same in HR, there will be set responsibilities or tasks which are carried out weekly or monthly but having an open door policy means that we get anything and everything through our door every single day.
- How did you end up in this job? Whilst I was at college, I never knew what career I wanted to pursue; after obtaining my A levels I decided to look for an apprenticeship as I wanted to earn whilst I learned. At the time I had some knowledge of HR and saw a HR apprentice advertised online for a food manufacturing company, I thought this sounded interesting as I had only ever worked in retail, so I decided to apply for it, and got the job.
- What’s the best thing about your job? The best part about my job is being able to meet new people from all different backgrounds and gain an insight into their lives and being able to help them by making there day a little bit easier.
- Where do you see yourself in five years’ time? In five years, time I want to have completed my Level 5 CIPD qualification and either become a HR associate or a HR graduate with Bakkavor
