• What does a HR Apprentice do?

Other than working towards my apprenticeship I assist the HR team in completing administrative tasks such as recruitment, onboarding employees and dealing with daily employee and managerial queries. However I don’t just do all the admin stuff I attend career fairs often and get to interact with future employees as well as using my creative side to plan event days such as International Women’s Day and our annual summer BBQ.

• After you qualified, did it take long to find a job?

I’m still currently studying until April 2025 but when I was in college looking for my apprenticeship it took me 11 months before I was offered a position.

• What’s the best thing about your job?

Being able to help others, to know that the employees carry a level of trust within you to help them with their problems it’s a very fulfilling feeling. Also the ability to be creative within my role through posters and organising events its great fun.

• How long have you been doing your job?

I’ve recently hit my 1 year in my role I started in October 2023

• If you could give your 16 year old self some career advice, what would it be?

Don’t give up there is something out there for you, life is a game of trial and error eventually your luck will come through.
