  • ​What does a HR Administrator do?

HR Administrator is responsible for employee relations, recruiting & checking candidates on AMRIS, updating employees’ details in their records, on boarding of new starters, preparing contracts & job descriptions and other relevant on boarding documentations. The HR Admin is also responsible for conducting Modern Slavery interviews, exit interviews and assisting the payroll department with administrative requests.   

  • What’s the best thing about your job? 

For me, the best thing about working in HR is that no two days are the same.  
Everyday we have the opportunity to learn new things or find new ways to solve old problems. HR is not a type of job, but a lifestyle full of passion and positive energy.  

  • How long have you been doing your job? 

10 months, I joined the lovely HR Department in November last year. 

  • What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing this career?  

Don’t panic and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Think about the apprenticeship programme or graduate programme, which is an excellent opportunity to gain new skills, qualifications, and experience at the same time.  

  • If you could give your 16 years old self some career advice, what would it be?  

I would say it’s okay to not know what you want to do in the future. Just try to look at your qualifications, skills and even any work experience and look for some careers that suits you. Additional advice is until you try it you won’t know if it’s the job you want to do in the future.
