I work for rustlers which is in the food division for Kepak. My job entails working in each department in commercial and operations. It is a graduate scheme so the jobs can range from doing the actual job in the department to working on projects.
- Give a description of a day in the life of a Graduate.
My job can change daily but the day will start with a quick read of the grocer and other magazines then work through whatever emails I have and then create a tasks list for the day. Will always try to have a bigger project I can work on in the Background.
- After you qualified, did it take long to find a job?
As soon as I qualified yes it was difficult to find the right job. Resulting in getting a job which I didn’t want, but only took up for experience and money. But then found a job at Kepak.
- How did you end up in this job?
Hard work and determination. But applied through LinkedIn when I saw the job advert.
- What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing this career?
Push yourself out of your comfort zone and network with everyone. Keeping up to date on what is happening in the industry also helps.
- What’s the best thing about your job?
The people I work with and the opportunities I get offered.
- If you had the chance to do it all over again, what would you do the same / differently?
I would have gotten into the food industry a lot earlier.
- What was your starting salary?
First ever full-time job in 2014 was £14,000.

Salary has progressed.
