What does a Finance Graduate do?

My finance graduate scheme is a 2 year programme in which you rotate around four key finance business functions including Internal Audit, Procurement and FP&A.

After you qualified, did it take long to find a job?

I managed to secure this role whilst completing my undergraduate degree at uni, and started the role 2 months after graduating.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing this career?

I would say to go for this type of role after university if you know you want to go into finance but you’re not sure what in finance. The structure of a graduate programme allows you to work in various finance functions to see what you enjoy the most or excel most in.

What’s the best thing about your job?

I enjoy engaging and speaking with various colleagues around the business as it's great to hear their career paths and take on advice from them in order to make the most of my graduate programme.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

In 5 years I would like to have completed my CIMA qualifications and be a chartered accountant.
