- What does an Employability Programme Specialist do?
As an Employability Programme Specialist I am based in the Talent, Development and Inclusion team supporting on the Early Careers attraction, selection and onboarding of Engineering Apprenticeships, Degree Apprenticeships, Placements and Graduate Schemes.
Attraction - The building of campaigns for Early Career programmes through building relationships with schools, Universities and having a strong social media presence.
Recruitment - Managing the end-to-end recruiement and candidate experience through interviews, assessment centres and site tours. Ensuring all governement legislations are met.
Onboarding - Contracts and offer letters, keep warm activites and the desgin and delivery of first week induction.
- What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my role is the networking and being able to meet new people from all cultures, backgrounds and cross functions. I also like the scope the role offers for creativity and the encouragement of bringing in new innovative ideas to help redesign process' and innovation.
- If you could give your 16 year old self some career advice, what would it be?
Do not be afraid to be inquisitive and ask questions! Follow your passion and if you really want something you can achieve it. If someone tells you that you can't do something, prove them wrong and do it.
- How long have you been doing your job?
I have been at Greencore for 3 years however, the role i am in now i have been doing for a couple of months.
- Did you buy something special with your first pay cheque?
I went on my first ever skiing holiday!
