- How did you end up in this job?
I was looking to further my career in a different setting within the food and drink industry; what became clear to me was throughout my entire career, I found the most rewarding part of any role I had was the development of the teams I’ve worked with, I knew I wanted to look for something in this area, so I started looking for new opportunities within the business – then the secondment opportunity of Early Careers & Apprenticeship Lead went live – this was exactly what I was looking for!
- What’s the best thing about your job?
Meeting and supporting a variety of individuals, it’s a pleasure to support the development of those within the business and externally as well.
- If you had the chance to do it all over again, what would you do the same / differently?
Looking back, I did exactly what was right for me at the time. Each life phase brings different needs.
- How long have you been doing your job?
I’ve been with the business for 5 years, but in my seconded role for 4 months.
- If you could give your 16 year old self some career advice, what would it be?
Keep pushing yourself, feeling stretched is the key ingredient for growth in your learning.
