Give a description of a day in the life of a Customer Service & Supply Chain Graduate.

As a graduate on a rotation within distribution, I start work at 8:30am, attend the morning meeting before heading over to the gatehouse to learn and carry out some of the co-ordinator responsibilities. In this role, I am working with the stocks and deliveries - which is mostly computer based, and then I finish my day at 4:30pm.

After you qualified, did it take long to find a job?

I started this graduate scheme two years after I had finished my university degree, although within that time I gained full-time experience within two different industries whilst saving up to travel for 6 months. I applied for the graduate scheme in November 2024 and started the position in September 2025.

How did you end up in this job?

After university, I did not have a clear idea of which industry I wanted to enter, and so I kept my options very open when looking for experience. I worked in life science recruitment for 6 months, before I secured a fixed term contract role at the online supermarket Ocado within the technology and engineering sector. My experience gave me a greater perspective of what I was looking for in my career and also allowed me to learn and develop a variety of skills.
