Account management for Waitrose working on sales analysis, promotions, pricing, forecasting and much more with the help of other functions including Development, Finance and Planning.

After you qualified, did it take long to find a job?

Started straight out of university following many applications at other similar companies. From starting to apply to accepting the job was about 3-4 months.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of pursuing this career?

Make sure you know what the industry is all about and what is happening in the industry as it will help a lot with your job, make sure you’re ready for a fast-paced environment.

If you had the chance to do it all over again, what would you do the same / differently?

I’d apply in the same industry, maybe gain some relevant experience beforehand in the FMCG industry as this would’ve been very useful to have but not essential. Doing a placement year in general was really helpful and something I would definitely do again. I would research more into the industry to help with interview process.
