- What does a Business Analyst do?
- Understands Business Operations and helps them work through a change in process when a new solution or a new way of doing things is implemented within the Business.
- How did you end up in this job?
- Fell into it, went for one job and got offered different one which played to my work experience from previous roles on my CV.
- What’s the best thing about your job?
- People interactions and each day is different, the varied nature of the job and way in which the job can influence the way in which people work and interact with systems.
- How long have you been doing your job?
- I have been a Business Analyst for the past 16 years, came up through the Business route rather than getting an IT degree. It is one of the IT careers for which an IT degree is not essential as you need professional certifications as well.
- If you could give your 16 year old self some career advice, what would it be?
- Don’t worry if your original career path doesn’t work out the way in which you thought there will be another path which may be more rewarding than your original.
- Did you buy something special with your first pay cheque?
- I had a weekend job for a major food retailer, but I can’t remember what I did with my 1st pay packet, but I do remember being paid weekly in cash.
