What’s the best thing about your job?

Having the opportunity to work on different pieces of equipment by yourself or in a team. Everyday is different, you run into things you have never seen before. It keeps everything interesting and keeps your mind occupied.

If you had the chance to do it all over again, what would you do the same / differently?

If I had the chance to go back, I would’ve gone straight for an apprenticeship instead of going to college, an apprenticeship is like getting paid to go to college whilst also getting hands on experience.

Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

I see myself as a fully qualified technician with years of experience and expertise working in the food and drink industry.

If you could give your 16-year-old self some career advice, what would it be?

Don’t wait around and hope something falls into your lap, if you want something you have to go out and get it, being patient doesn’t get you what you want. Follow your interests and take risks while you can.

Did you buy something special with your first pay cheque?

With my first pay cheque I bought Lightning McQueen Crocs which at the time were around £400. I always said I was going to so when I had the opportunity I did.
