What does an Agricultural Graduate do?
I have quite a varied range of work within my role. I do quite a lot of data logging for various surveys, do audits on farm and work on various environmental and sustainability projects.
After you qualified, did it take long to find a job?
Not at all, I graduated from Harper Adams University in late September 2025 and started my role around a month later.
What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is definitely the variety that I have within my role. Being from a farming background, I wanted to stay within the agricultural sector, and this role has helped me do that. It’s also pretty flexible, allowing me to spend some time on the farm at home, especially during peak times such as silage, lambing or calving.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
I can see myself in 5 years time still working for Dunbia, having taken on more responsibility, and still working with farmers.
If you could give your 16 year old self some career advice, what would it be?
Be open to career opportunities within agriculture other than just being a farmer. There is so much variety within agriculture other than just working on farm, and even if that’s your passion, there’s still time to do it either side of another job.
