If you are interested in the different stages involved in efficient food production, then this will give you a clear understanding of the key manufacturing processes including planning, safe machinery operation and resource management. Working in manufacturing also involves linking with other functions within the business such as Technical, Development, Finance and Human Resources so requires good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Our apprentices will be classed a skilled operative within the factory, this means that they will have responsibility for an area or a production line. Typical duties will include, set up and check equipment, carrying out safety checks and audits in line with procedures. Organise and co-ordinate the allocation of tasks to colleagues within the area.  Ensure that breaks are co-ordinated effectively. Monitor and record line performance, food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards.

Our apprentice will complete a Level 4 Process Leader apprenticeship with the country’s leading University for Food & Drink apprenticeships. As well as their apprenticeship, full support and training will be provided to help you progress quickly. The work environment can be cold, and busy, but more importantly, it is a very positive place to work, and the experience gained will be invaluable for your future. It provides you with your ‘first steps’ into manufacturing, and future career aspirations could be Section Leader, Senior Section Manager or Factory Manager to name a few.
