We may have the perfect opportunity for you! We are currently recruiting for Degree Apprentices in Food Engineering. Our Food Engineering Degree Apprenticeship is ideal for those who want to study towards a degree, and work at the same time.
Successful apprentices will graduate from Harper Adams University with a BEng (Hons) Food Engineering degree and have the skills and experience for a rewarding career in the Food sector.
Location: We currently have opportunities at our Hereford site to start in September 2019 to support our Chicken operations. You will be released on a 1 week block residential per module to study at Harper Adams University, near Telford. While you will initially be based at this site, there may be a requirement to support other sites during your apprenticeship with us and therefore a valid UK driving licence is essential.

What do you need?
To be successful: You will need to be enthusiastic and well-disciplined as our degree apprenticeship is heavily focused on attitude and behaviour. In addition, you will need to exhibit initiative, be reliable and conscientious. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to think logically and to work both independently and as part of a team. The ability and willingness to travel to different offices and client sites is required, and you will have a passion for technology.
To be eligible for the Food Engineering Degree Apprenticeship, you will need
- 7 GCSE’s A-C (4-9) including Maths and English
- A Minimum of96 UCAS points at A Levels ideally in Maths and a steam subject
- Or an equivalent BTEC / City & Guilds Level 3 Extended Diploma or equivalent qualification at D*DD grade
Applicants that do not have the below qualifications may still meet the entry requirements based on their work experience and will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
