What does a Group Technical Systems Co-Ordinator do?

I am responsible for co-ordinating group technical KPI data from across the sites and turning this data into report format for senior members of the group. I co-ordinate independent quality panels, ensuring the different categories sample each other’s products and then using the data generated communicate any issues. I also ensure all the sites have the up-to-date internal audit templates so that they can carry out internal audits.

How did you end up in this job?

I have always had a site based Technical role but came across as a maternity cover for this role, I enjoyed being able to work with different sites and the varied nature of the job so readily accepted when I was made permanent.

What’s the best thing about your job?

I get to work with all the Samworth sites rather than just being based at one site. I am really passionate about the quality of the food we make.

What was your starting salary?

My first role in a microbiology laboratory paid £8.500 a year and then I got a pay rise to just over £10k and I felt so proud of myself.

How long have you been doing your job?

I have been in the food industry since I was 20, so almost 30 years. I have worked for Samworth Brothers for 7 years which is actually the longest I have ever worked  for the same company for (although I have had 2 jobs within the group)
