Food service operation is a process to use the resources you have to make the best possible products. For example, Nestlé UK&I Operator Apprentices get the opportunity & responsibility of making their factories as efficient as possible, whilst achieving a Level 3 qualification in Food Manufacturing Excellence. On successful completion of this Apprenticeship, you would have the skills to step straight into an operations role in one of their factory and officially join their team of high calibre operators. Many different factors affect how well food operations are carried out and performed. Operation performance can be measured by looking at the following areas within manufacturing:

The National Skills Academy Food & Drink offers Industry Approved Apprenticeship Programmes (IAAP) for Process Operators. This programme gives people a great head start into the food and drink industry whilst also giving insights into how companies work. A job in food operations is also a great foundation to get your head around food manufacturing processes and gives you a fantastic insight as a young person to determine how you would like to progress in your career.
