The role of section leader (sometimes called a supervisor) is one where you provide supervisory management to a maintenance team of fitters, electricians, multi-skilled staff and apprentices.
You’ll provide the link between the operational and administrative parts of the engineering department and will report to the engineering manager or equivalent.

As an Environment Manager in Food Manufacturing you’ll be responsible for overseeing the environmental protection and sustainable production performance of your company.

As a Farm Director you’ll work with the Farm Manager and ensure that all management and production plans are being implemented in an effective and profitable manner.
You’ll be responsible for the success of the company in all areas of operations.
This role is one which will likely only be available on extremely large farms or estates; in other instances the farmer as owner of the business will undertake the same type of work.
Your level of responsibility as a Farm Director will be dependent on the status of the business – limited company, private partnership and so on.

You’ll either run your own farm business or be employed to manage the business effectively on behalf of someone else.
You’ll be responsible for the work of farm staff, administrative issues and all financial aspects of the business.
As the farm manager you will also deal directly with suppliers, customers and other stakeholders.
Keeping up with new developments and ensuring compliance with regulations also falls under your areas of responsibility.

You’ll probably be employed by an organisation that owns pigs across a number of sites which are being contract managed by other farmers.
The job involves supporting the farmers in their production and ensuring that performance is optimised, through the application of a variety of management practices.
You’ll not actually be physically involved with the running of each farm but rather the role is one of an advisor, visiting each farmer and checking animals and production systems, and meeting with the Farmers/Farm Managers.

As a financial manager in a food processing or manufacturing company you’ll be responsible for providing financial and analytical support, and using your insight to assist the sales and profitability of your employer and ensuring that important decision-making around financial issues is effective and based on sound knowledge.

In your role as an Assistant Fish Farm Site Manager, you will support the Fish Farm Manager with all of the day to day operations on site.
There will also be occasions when you will have to deputise for the Fish Farm Manager as and when needed.
You’ll very likely have several years experience of fish farming techniques and a good understanding of fish husbandry.
Your responsibilities will involve the entire process, from the breeding of juvenile fish right through to harvesting and delivery to customers.

You’ll be responsible for the breeding and rearing of fish from fry to until they are ready for sale.
This means overseeing their feeding, keeping them disease free, and protecting them from predators.
The final stage of the process involves catching and harvesting the fish and preparing them for sale.
Alternatively you could be employed in a fish farm which specialises in developing breeding stock, then selling these juveniles to another farm along the supply chain.
Whilst the majority of fish farms concentrate on salmon and trout, some may specialise in shellfish such as mussels, oysters and scallops.

The food photographer takes pictures of food for packaging, magazine articles, cookbooks, and advertisements.

The pictures taken must evoke the delicious smell, texture and taste of the product and this takes a high degree of expertise to get absolutely right every time.
