The dairy industry is part of the dynamic Food & Drink Industry - the UK’s largest manufacturing industry. Eden Engineering is an Advanced Apprenticeship developed in conjunction with the industry to equip tomorrow’s workforce with the world-class skills they’ll need for the future.
With in-depth and practical understanding of the latest techniques, technology and software, successful apprentices will not only have the skills needed to maintain and repair equipment, you’ll also be able to help drive innovation within the industry.
If you have a passion for engineering, a desire to learn and want an interesting and rewarding career, our Advanced Apprenticeship is a great opportunity with fantastic prospects. This is a Level 3 qualification so if you are new to the industry you’ll need C or above in GCSE English Language, Maths and Science and an A-Level in either Maths or Science. You can also apply if you have equivalent qualifications or already have dairy industry experience – we’re looking for the best candidates, whatever your background.
Earn while you learn
Throughout your apprenticeship you’ll earn a competitive salary – and have no student loans to pay back. Then, with a world-class qualification on your CV, you’ll have just the right mix of skills and experience that are in short supply in the dairy industry today.
Your 4-year Apprenticeship will be delivered by Midland Group Training Services (MGTS) appointed by the industry as a Centre of Excellence in engineering. Your off the job training with MGTS will be delivered at Reaseheath College in Cheshire. As well as earning valuable experience and a string of qualifications, including NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (Engineering Systems), you’ll also qualify for membership of The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).
In addition to your engineering training you will also spend time in the Reaseheath Food Centre’s state of the art dairy processing facility. During your time in the Centre you will cover topics such as food safety, food hygiene, product quality, yield and efficiency whilst understanding the importance of health and safety in the food environment.
Officially recognised as the National Skills Academy’s Centre of Excellence for Dairy Training, Reaseheath is set in 200
hectares of parkland, lakes, woodland and fields – and includes an on-campus dining hall, coffee shop and gym. Its newly-built halls of residence can accommodate students in en-suite rooms with access to shared kitchen areas.
