Earn while you learn
Throughout your Apprenticeship you’ll benefit from both classroom and on-the-job teaching – and get paid to train. You’ll start on around £11,000 in your first year, but many Bakers are paid a premium for their skills, so it’s likely you’ll earn more as you progress through your career..
Apprenticeship graduates can look forward to an average starting salary of £26,000.
This programme will equip you with absolutely everything you need to become a baker. You’ll develop an in-depth knowledge of the industry and a broad range of practical skills that will prepare you for work in almost any environment. Topics you’ll cover will include the history of baking, discovering both hand-crafted and mechanical processing methods, principals of ingredients & baking, how to finish products and understand how new products are created.
On the way to achieving your Apprenticeship, you will acquire an L2 Diploma in Bakery – a qualification that’s recognised and designed by the industry. You'll also achieve other qualifications, such as an L2 Award in Food Safety and an L2 Award in HACCP, which will really help to boost your CV.
