WHAT DOES A APPRENTICE ENGINEER DO?
I’m learning how to fix production machinery breakdowns and how to avoid them by doing planned maintenance. Over the course of my Apprenticeship I’m learning the skills needed to be an engineer both from the engineers at work and by going to college.
WHAT WAS YOUR CAREER PATH TO YOUR JOB TODAY?
I found out about the job through the www.apprenticeships.org.uk website. They set up the interviews and the selection process. I chose engineering as my career path and looked for many jobs until finding the best one for me.
WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Every day is different and challenging. One day I could be
fixing a breakdown and the next doing a planned maintenance job. Both tasks are fun but very different - which is great.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS TIME?
I want to be a qualified multi-skilled engineer with a Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma working
at Pork Farms.
WHAT CAR DO YOU DRIVE?
Once I started my job in the food industry, I upgraded my
car and now drive a Audi A4.
